This is getting obnoxious. Do any of you know Konami has always had a foot pachinko/gambling business? They also have a foot in the fitness, card games, anime, arcades, clothes as well. How many of you actually know about Konami history? Leveraging THEIR popular IP's with THEIR many different sectors? What's new?

Its THEIR IP! They can do whatever they want to

You seem to like Star Ocean. What if SE decided one one day to say fuck video games and never made another Star Ocean but instead make a collectable card game for it?

??!! THEY ARE NOT FORCED TO MAKE VIDEO GAMES. THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT WITH THEIR IP's.

These companies do not owe  us a damn thing. We do not have any grounds to chastise them oh any of their choices WE did not invest in money.

If I decided to make one IP my entire life that made me rich, and I decided after that Im not interested in any other game development, but instead I would like license the IP I created toys a clothes ... That is MY right, MY choice,MY IP, not yours. The sense of entitlement is gross.

I'm sorry but what are you even trying to argue here? From our perspective as consumers it is not our task to worry about what the company wants to do with its IP. Nobody is arguing that it's not Konamis choice what to do with their IPs but a company doesn't serve itself, it serves the customers. We as customers are supposed to voice our opinions on what we want from companies and companies are supposed to act on that demand.

So when Konami decides to cancel Silent Hills but bring out this Pachinko machine, my reaction shouldn't be "Oh well it is their IP and they can do what they want with it" but I should show them that they have made a bullshit decision to me and that I want that game that Silent Hills was probably going to be.

Why should I be tiptoeing around calling out companies decisions that I find to be BS? Nobody gains from that. A company can't get its feelings hurt, but the people responsible for its decisions can learn from the criticism.
