Eh, it is a old story, despite what some ICO/SotC fans will tell you these games stories are pretty nominal, they are just FILLED with superb atmosphere and excellent game design.
Pandora's Tower I think may have taken some inspiration from that but went its own way, particularly with trying to get you to care for the female companion. Just like the rest of the Rainfall games, it was very well done but had room for improvement.
