Why should I be? The author himself says he doesn't want/have to time to invest himself in video games anymore.

Thar came from becoming a mature adult. Work and household chores eat up much of your free time you've had before, and afterwards you're generally too lazy/out of energy to invest yourself into a game. If your read the whole text, you'll see that not only was it not the wife or kid who killed gaming for him, but rather brought them back to him after his everyday life as an adult killed it before
