Do people really think that MS want to lose exclusive 3rd party support? Truth it that they have 10M less X1s out there than PS4s. They have to pay a lot more than Sony would to get 3rd party exclusives and since they do not have enough units out there, the money they spend on 3rd party exclusives will not pay off. Sony on the other hand can benefit from exclusive 3rd party support because they pay less to keep it off other platform (because they hold the majority of the market share).
MS will not fund 3rd party exclusives because they will lose money. It's not a case of supporting one or the other like Phil makes it sound, if you have the better market share you can support both very strongly without taking one away from the other.
The 360 had the bigger market share last gen hence why they supported more 3rd party games. Phil is just trying to make a negative sound like a positive.
