Areym said: That is honestly fine. I've always said, turn based combat is a thing of the past. In my opinion, there is no reason to pick it over action combat (outside of specifically strategy RPGs) outside of nostalgia for the glory days of RPGs, especially in an age where fast-paced and flashy action is more popular. That being said, the combat for this remake could be real shit if not executed properly and may be safer just to stick to turn-based. I am cautiously optimistic. |
That is where I disagree, turnbased battles can exist in the modern age, and offer more than just nostalgia.

It can indeed. I've been playing Divinity: Original Sin and the turn-based combat there is phenomenal. Still, i feel that it is too restrictive to have to choose between freaking moving and attacking in the middle of a fight. For me, I can't have that "suspesnsion of disbelief" moment. Not to mention having to sit there and take a beating for no reason when in any fight, i should be able to dodge, evade or counter an enemy attack.
