Not really a preference, both have ups and downs, it's a mixed bag really.
I'd say X-Men are my favorite comic book related series, which is Marvel, the movies are all great. Super-hero comic book related anyway. On the other hand DC has Batman, which is great all around and concerning the movies I greatly prefer those to the Avengers universe movies. DC to me also wins at tv series, as a series like Arrow is great, and easily beats the so-so Agents of Shield. Then, the films, most of them anyway, screwed up Spider-Man, though he is still a cool hero. Marvel's Thor is also still cool enough and if 300 counts here, that's great as well.
So in spite of a Marvel series being my favorite, I guess, with X-Men, I'd say I like DC overal better because I just prefer the 'lore' or 'myth' behind their heroes better. Mostly. Or something.
