And between Silver Age Superman and Batman-whoops-his-ass Superman we have Crisis events that were created to deal with the horribly overpoweredness of this character.

Ki doesn't do EVERYTHING?

Hmmmmm.

List of things Goku apparently can do with Ki:

1. Pew pew pew.

2. MIND READIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING

3. The super power of flight

4. Sense life

5. Hair coloring

6. Shape changing - Ok, not Goku, but Frieza and Cell do this -

7. Transformation into more powerful forms that generate more ki in order to transform into more powerful forms that generate even more ki...uhhhhhhhhh....what?

8. Aura light shows

1. Any one can possibly do taht with the ki energy she has. She has to learn to do it though, as shown by Videl.

2. Mind Reading is not related to ki (where did you get this from?)

3. Flight also has to be learnt, again as shown by Videl. A powerful character may not be able to fly cause he doesn't know how to.

4. Life sensing is based on other's ki, not the user's own ki.

5. Hair colouring? What the fuck does that even mean?

6. Shape changing has nothing to do with ki power of an individual. Its firstly called transformation, and depends on the species, not the ki power of the user. It usually does however serve the purpose of increasing ki, but does not require ki.

7. Transformation increases ki, but does not require it. Goku had to be angered beyond belief to transform, otherwise he wouldn't have had ever become a Super Saiyan. Only exception to this rule is SSJ3.

8. So what? Aura is the result of having massive ki energy, which emanates from the user. It doesn't decide the outcome of a match.

EVERYTHING is related to Ki in the DB universe. Otherwise I assume that Goku just magically gained an ability to read minds by putting his hand on someone's head.

Hair coloring = SSJ. Tsk tsk tsk. SSJ => Blonde, SSJGSSJ => Cyan, via GOD KIIIIIIIIIII.

Every transformation is related to how much ki the character has acquired by his training. Goku even states that they spend too much energy while transforming, and thus trains Gohan to stay in SSJ mode permanently - training for the Cell tournament in they Hyperbolic Time Chamber -.

Also, your exception is actually a rule. Trunks and Goten don't need to get super angry to transform, neither does Gotenks, neither does Vegeta - he's just frustrated by design -. While Toriyama uses Goku's anger for some drama moment with the first transformation, he only ever uses it again for Gohan's SSJ2 transformation. Otherwise, everyone transforms by being "strong enough" to do it.

Everyone uses Ki to fly, pew pew pew or whatever else => plot device => your contradiction doesn't really contradict me. Care to try again?
