I don't know what's it like to get dropped all by yourself in unfamiliar territory full with predators. Your imagination is your worst enemy, plus some people couldn't stand all the time to think I guess. One guy did have the bear on tape that was rumaging around his tent. They only have pepper spray and a flare to 'defend' themselves... Perhaps they should have had a trial run first to weed out the unprepared. At least the 4 that are left seem to be in it for the long haul.
Compararing it to Naked and afraid is flawed. There is always a camera crew around even when they end up 'alone'. Plus the one time that they had to deal with extended rain they failed miserably. In alone it has rained most of the days, everything is soaked and their clothes are growing mold. I don't call that a fun camping trip. Compare that to the island, no rain, daily crab feast, warm weather, that looked like a perfect holiday.
It's interesting, fills a void while Les Stroud aka Survivorman only seems to be interested in finding bigfoot nowadays.
