Is Steam Machine "devices" 9 gen ?

Also, even the Ouya has the same configuration on its first generation than Steam Machines do in their First Generation... If you buy an Alienware Steam Machine vs an ibuypower Steam Machine, the configurations are different... Even Alienware has different configurations...

A more acurate description would be "Box for the tv" (designed as a modern console) whit a custom made gamer OS..

You do know that a Steam machine "device" will function as a console in all ways.. ? 

The fact that there will be more models and settings.. does not mean any for the "is it a console or not" debat.. Point is if you took that Alienware steam machine home.. it would look and function.. way more "Console" than "PC".. and I bet that all people not knowing about steam machine would see a console.

No... Its a PC in your living room and people will see it as such... Provided it doesn't flop right out of the gate which it probably will anyway... Look at this thread for example. This entire site is very console orinated but virtually no one sees a steam machine as a console. PC gamers aren't going to see it as a console cause they know that it certainly isn't one. And consumers won't see it as a console cause it will be avaliable in PC sites and in PC sections... Most of them aren't even marketing it as a console but rather a PC... So idk where you are getting that people will see it as a console from...

And a steam device won't function like a console always... There are plenty of steam machines that have windows on it including the Alienware Alpha and you can access the linux OS without too much difficulty...

Anyway, its pretty clear that your arguments are pretty terrible so I am not going to waste my time with you as some have recommended. You can have the last word

Oh and no, steam machines isn't anymore of a console if you just cherry pick the alienware version and ignore the rest

Remember the first models of ps3.. they could dual boot linux.. (and was still considered a console)

Was it my agument that it would function as a console..?  becourse thats from valve.. not me.

I do not cherry pick.. I just wants you to see from one device.. "is this considered a console".. rather than looking at all steam machine combitable devices and the platform as a hole.
