But they've already tried the 1080p/60fps port route. The effect was miniscule sales, although that could possibly be because of the Wii U. I think for great sales, console gamers want a unique game which takes advantage of the platform they are using. Capcom on the other-hand, just wants to make more handheld games and can use whichever console resources for handheld titles. Unless they have an artistic vision which they can't bring to handhelds (which is a small window before the next Nintendo handheld releases and resets the bar) they probably won't consider a console version for a little while. Although I guess the 1080p 60fps ports aren't entirely out of question. I am interested to see if such a thing comes to fruition. It could be very possible that they are making an NX/PS4 game for the distant future (assuming NX is a fusion platform.) They already have Monster Hunter X and Monster Hunter Stories in development for 3DS. Their hands to seem to be full. Although the stories trailer did look to be above 3DS capabilities. So maybe that will be a multiplatform release 3DS/PS4/NX? |
Well I'm not saying it will sell millions, but a version like that should well be able to sell 500k+ or something, definitely nothing to scoff at or to ignoe if it can be made without a huge investment, especially since it's also a way of expanding a series to new people.
I've just watched the MH Stories trailer (why does that have so many dislikes?) and that definitely doesn't look like a 3DS game, but not like CG or a console game either, it's like they tried making it look really good but also like something that the untrained eye could think would still work on 3DS. Maybe that'll be multiplat, who knows...
