The gaming industry is a very fickle thing. I wouldn't take a maybe as definitive. It's like when Yuji Horii said that localizations of DQ VII and VIII 3DS were coming in Paris a few weeks back. In the long run, we still haven't been able to confirm if he just meant that they were being considered, and have heard nothing else about them in general.

Until SE actually says "the NX version is coming" without any fluff wording around it that could possibly imply it isn't, it's best to keep realistic expectations in mind.

That's the thing their boss said it on stage when he announced DQX for NX and NX was listed for XI, most likely the fluff wording by the PR team is because the platform is still not officially anounced and the would be NDAs for anyone who knows anything. By confirming DQXI they would tip off MS and Sony on what NX is as then people would be looking at what version is going to be on NX.

At this point it seems inadvertedly confirmed as with two versions of DQXI I think one or possibly both will make it over as the DQ fanbase is all over the place in Japan now days, well except on Xbox.

The thing about that is that, especially after the Horii and the 3DS remakes thing that is still so up in the air, I'm just not entirely certain that the folks in charge of DQ games entirely understand what SE means when they use the words "considering" and "maybe". What they announce as fact in questionable scenarios like this could easily be them misinterpreting intentions from higher ups, and considering the SE press release indicated that it was still only under consideration, I feel inclined to believe the people making the business decisions. If they didn't want to confirm anything about the NX, nobody would have mentioned it. Not in the press release to Famitsu, and especially not at a live presentation. Hell, even saying the game could be coming for the NX confirms nothing about it except what was already reasonably assumed, you know, that it's a game console of some kind.

In the long run, especially with how third parties treat Nintendo, I'm maintaining the maybe is the most likely truth.
