The'd be no point because a handheld would play the 3DS version anyway, much like how some games on N3DS have upgrades when run on the newer hardware they could implement that and save a tonne of money that way. An NX version indicates a console like platform as DQX is also being moved over to NX along with a PS4 version, this indicates they want to migrate Nintendo console owners as NX replacing Wii U would mean the biggest following for XI would be left behind.

Again, you're assuming BC which may or may not be the case, especially if you take into account the rumored Android OS running the hardware. If they do change the architecture of the handheld it may not be cost effective to keep any kind of BC in it.

You're assuming the NX is getting the PS4 version of the game, but if that was the case I would see no reason why they wouldn't also announce X1. The NX would need to be designed in a similar x86 architecture as the PS4 (and X1). The fact that at the time this possible new Nintendo console will have 0 install base, it would make no sense to port the PS4 version to it but leave out the X1.

I can much more easily see the situation i mentioned before being reality. Re-use the assets from the 3DS version and see it on their new just released handheld

It will sell near zero in Japan, so it has a lot more sense releasing it first in Japan on the NX/PS4, and then, maybe, a port on the X1 if they localize it. And I'm not so sure if it will sell very well on the X1 on the west...
