Did anybody buy a Wii U actually expecting long term third party support? Honestly? It isn't as if third parties were just going to change their tune towards Nintendo after two generations of basically turning completely over to Sony, another generation of halfassing almost everything they did on the Wii, and then going back to Sony once again this generation.

Nintendo consoles sell to Nintendo fans who want to play Nintendo games.

Well they did cause EA were holding hands with Nintendo at E3 praising the Wii U on stage. So everyone though NIntendo talked to the devs and addressed their hardware concerns.

It was stated they did talk to lots of devs about the console. EA of course being one of them, Ubisoft as well, and Activision, among the majority of the bigger Japanese devs. That's why there was support from all of them to begin with. Nintendo and THQ also made a huge deal, but unfortunately THQ went belly up. The only devs that said Nintendo didn't go to them were Bethesda and Epic. Neither have ever supported Nintendo so it doesn't make sense to waste resources on them, they did however supply them with dev kits.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
