If I were a storeowner, I'd always look for the best interests for my clients, my employees and my company. I would hire the applicant(s) who is perfect for the position. If that well qualified person were to be transgender, I'd hire him/her. With that in mind, I'd make sure I have a safe and respectful workplace not only for the transgender person, but also for my workforce in general. Also, I'd talk to the transgender applicant before the job to negotiate on some rules and terms, to see what can be changed and what should be enforced. So I would hire a transgender person as long as he/she meets the position requirements. And I would keep him/her employed if the performance is satisfactory.
