The Island was not a bad movie at all. You're talking about the one with Ewan McGregor, correct? That was actually quite a decent movie but unfortunately it was underrated and quite misunderstood. It wasn't a movie for everyone and not your mindless eat a bucket of popcorn film. I didn't find it overly complicated either, I'm not so sure that many people really liked or "felt" the twist in the film.
