I'm going to be very interested to see what Nintendo does in this situation. Are they going to tell the studio to fix the game as much as possible? Will we see a day one patch like on many other games? Or will they simply cut bait on the game and look the other way? |
Based on these reactions from Nintendo, I have a feeling Nintendo just wants to bury it without spending any more money on its development:
NoE made no effort to get the regular five language release that they usually go for to appeal to as much of at least Western Europe as possible. Instead it is just two, which are English and French, French being text only. They clearly are trying to limit the spread of the game, and I can't blame them. NoJ is being more direct about their attempts to limit the game's audience by releasing exclusively on Amazon. A single internet based retailer. They are limiting exposure as much as possible while still tossing the game out there on a recognizable shopping website.
The game is essentially DoA in Europe and Japan.
Edit: To top it off, NoA still doesn't even seem to be sure they want to publish the game. We have yet to get more than a single tweet from them after the fires burned for several days from the Unseen64 and Siliconera reports, and they've gone silent again since about the game.
