I know Nintendo funded the development of the game, but anything beyond that I have no idea.
Honestly, I can see Nintendo doing any of the actions you described. It really just depends on how much they care about the game. I don't believe Valhalla will support it further, although I thought I heard a while back that they planned on doing free DLC updates. I might just be imagining that though.
