A variety of first party Nintendo games have confirmed online... Pokemon Revolution (which is out in Japan), Battalion Wars II and Smash Bros... None of these titles have been dated yet... Mario Kart has not been announced yet, but seeing it will be a 2008 game at the very earliest, I hope/assume it will be online.
Elebits is the only game out in the West offering any online functionality... Building and trading custom levels... Similar functionality has been talked about for Konami's Wii studio's next project, Dewy's Adventure. And of course in Animal Crossing you'll be able to visit friend's towns online. "Casual" online aspects like these may be as common on Wii as online multiplayer.
Overall, the focus for Nintendo online is going to be on "safe", decentralized multiplayer, "casual" online features like those mentioned above, free services via the channel interface, and the VC store, which focuses on selection over features.
I can't understand that "safety" issue. I mean WHAT can be unsafe when playing CoD online without chat enabled? WHAT?? A CoD rape? i mean Nintendo seems to be just stupid with that!
