Nintendo has been notoriously inaccurate in their own financial forecast and sales forecast over most of the last few years- I don t see them making much if any profit this year or next year regardless of when the NX launches
Their revenue has been declining yoy for the past several years (at least as far back as 2011). In order to have substantial operating profits they will need to have substantial revenue growth and that won t happen this year-
Even if the NX release next year it still seems to me that it will not only have to be at break even or profit on the hardware but it will have to have great sales and prob more than 4.5 months of sales to make a big difference in their annual revenue (assuming the NX release in Nov 2016).
edit 7/20/15 the graphs posted above show Nintendo s annual revenue has declined YOY since 2009
They also show thier operating revenue is aprox 1/3rd of what it was at the peak of DS and Wii- pretty amazing
