Honestly I don't think I've ever seen such a popular game that so few people actually cared about playing on this forum. Everyone seems more interested in turning the game into a bargaining chip in the pissing contest of what's better, the PS3 or 360. As Tycho from Penny Arcade Put it, things haven't been this bad since the days of the SNES and Genesis. Either way, all three titles afore mentioned disgust me in how far these developers have had to push themselves (often to the point of financial jepardy) just to make a HD sequel that doesn't cut corners or has a play time of five to ten hours... Just to make a game that could have been made last gen in 1/3rd the time and at 1/5th the cost. If developers have to invest this much risk, this much time and this much financial revenue into just one game (surprise surprise a sequel no less) just to make a game that can truly be called AAA on an HD console... What the hell is the point. |
One can't blame a company for wanting to be competitive. The bar has been raised since last gen and I'm sure Rockstar employees had a blast designing a game this grand and expensive. Its exciting for companies to do this as it shows the huge industry growth...
And Its not like the fruits of their labour did not come through. I don't see any game this year being as complete as this one. Gears of War will be a great action shooter game. MGS4 will be a good stealth action game. Burnout is a good driving game. This one does everything! and does it well.
You can duck and hide from cops...you can go online and race with friends...you can grab a gun and have gunfights... there is a chainsaw (gears of war style). There has never been a game for 60 bucks that offers this much...and there probably won't be another one until GTA5 comes out.
