Is Wii backwards compatible with Gamecube games?

Yes, but only with Gamecube controllers. Be sure to have an older Wii SKU, the newest versions removed the Gamecube sockets.

I also think you can hack the virtual Wii in the WiiU and play Gamecube games with Gamepad/WiiU Pro controller/etc.

the Virtual Wii can be hacked to play GC games.  that would be nice.  do you have links regarding it. or it isn't allowed here? :)
