I'm not so sure. I don't think anyone would have considered Iwata for president before it happened. I'm not saying he does want it, but I just not so sure he would flat out reject it either. He clearly has a lot of love and respect for Nintendo, their franchises, their consoles, and their leader, Iwata. That all came through in his products. And I think his relationship with Iwata is the biggest thing going for him. And, like I said, he is clearly getting tired of making Smash Bros games. Considering his condition, it might be in his best intrest to stop creating games so directly at all. This would allow him to continue making important leadership decisions at Nintendo without suffering from designing games.
