I am going to clarify again the purpose and nature of the $50 million dollars. It is a LOAN!!!! That LOAN secured exclusive DLC and apparently a simultaneous release date for Microsoft. Microsoft gets revenue from the DLC up to and including $50 million dollars. If DLC revenue exceeds this, Rockstar gets some (all?) of the overhead.
Given 1 million Xbox 360 owners bought the CoD4 maps in the first week and GTAIV will be even more popular, I see Microsoft making almost all of their money back (And then some?).
So in effect, Microsoft will get exclusive DLC and a simultaneous release for almost nothing, and perhaps even alongside a profit.
