This device will be too weak to connect to a TV, so we need a dedicated home console and Nintendo overclocks the WiiU to 1.5x the power (like Gamcube to Wii), because it worked so well in the past. Home console will be 350$. Cross releases will take month, if at all, and you have to buy both versions. The WiiU will be discontinued except for some shovelware to milk the remaining customers. Amiboos everywhere. |
No ofense but that would be a disaster.
The best way to do this console imo would be to use Nvidia's Tegra X1 chipset and have it run in passive-cooling mode while being used as a handheld on its 720p screen. Then when plugged in, it connects to a fan that allows its clockspeeds to double and 1080p gaming is now possible.
Plus the Tegra X1 is twice as strong as a PS3 so it would at least be a bit better than last gen - esppecially if they overclocked it a lot in Console mode (Could be about half as strong as an Xbox One then).
However we know that AMD is making this for nintendo, so best case scenario imo is they do what I just said with an overclocked Puma+ chipset (Which should work just as well as the Tegra X1 if not better).
Prediction for console Lifetime sales:
Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million
[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]
3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m
I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.
