Microsoft & Sony spent about 7-8 years on their first HD consoles before making a big upgrade. Nintendo is just getting use to HD development and they are supposed to have a huge increase in power already while having a strong software output? I don't think that's very realistic at all.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
