While I don't know all too much about the US tax system, I know that in Norway the top tax rate is substantially higher than the top tax rate in the US. Although of course, tax rates in general are higher here than in the US. But I'd love for you to explain more back in chat


I believe it's something like the bottom 47% of American income earners pay nothing, the bottom 20-odd% receive money. The "1%" pays around half of the total income tax pie.

 

Wikipedia says the top 1%, which make 19.3% of the money made pay 24.2% of the total taxes paid. So a quarter of the total tax pie. But considering how much money they make, it would be fair if they paid something around 32-35% of the total tax pie.
