The games ok. There are many better platformers on the wiiu eshop but it has it's own identity. It gets quite hard with spread out check points and a general lack of explanation about what you're meant to be doing/where you're meant to be going. It's a game that you have to sit down and put some time into, wandering around, unsure if you're doing the right thing or if you'll have to backtrack after. This is probably the games strength though it'll make it more niche. I think it would have suited the 3ds but maybe I think that because that was the last platform I played Zelda 2 on.

The graphics are functional, basic and unremarkable 8 bit graphics. The music is pleasant but forgettable. Artistically it doesn't live up to the games that inspire it.

I bought it because I was intrigued by the Zelda 2 influences and I've hoped in the past that an indie dev somewhere would take some of the better Zelda 2 ideas build something great with it. This game doesn't really achieve that, but for what it is (and it's it's own game) it's ok and will suit some people.
