Was this the first gen that Nintendo released big titles at reduced prices?

MP 10 and DK were 50 instead of 60.... On Wii, both series were the same price, which is the price every Wii game had besides shovelware and smaller titles. Few exceptions were SEGA titles, and The Last Story/Pandora's Tower..

Just my two cents.
