Cool idea but most likely not possible unless they make games playable throughout gen on the most basic hardware
but if after 4years,you stop support for Core 1 then there won't be enough install base for developers to make games on
Also if after 6 years you are gonna make Core 1 obsolete then why not just release a new Handheld or Console as technology changes BIG time in 5years and people don't like old stuff
