In my opinion, this game is the best ever made, if not even better. How that's possible, I don't know. This wasn't sarcastic, it really is that great.
In history, only 3 games were able to temporarely pass OoT, Bioshock, Super Mario Galaxy and GTA IV, and heck, who knows, maybe GTA IV will pass it permanently.
But in essence, this game betrays it's entire family (read: it pwns every other Mario game in existence, with only games like SMB 3, SMW, SM64 and SMG coming close), kills it's neighbours (it effectively kills the other Nintendo games, except for maybe some Zelda's, Metroids, and possibly a niche hit that I've never played, like Earthbound. Those games are the only ones to come close.
Oh and by the way, once it did all that, Paper Mario 2 blew the world up with a couple of old soviet missiles.
At least it tried, because the missile shileds were on the attack was stopped and the game became a small one for Nintendo proportions, selling about 2 mil., and having a Gamerankings average of just under 90%.
It's a shame, this game should've gotten a full 100% Gamerankings score, effectively eliminating every chance of another game being better... until the videogames industry would find a way to inflate review scores to above the 10/10, which we all know is going to happen with the release of either Halo 4 or GTA V.
