Xbox one won't have the same install base xbox 360 had and that's not because this gen will be shorter than last gen, it's because ps4 is eating and will continue to eat marketshare from xbox one. Xbox 360 manage to have a good marketshare in Europe last gen whereas this gen, ps4 is getting it back and in the US, the ps4 is ahead even if it's not a huge lead. Compare to last gen, it's still an improvement. Also there isn't s Kinect this time around to give the xbox one a better second half compare to its first half.
Based on shorter legs compare to its predecessor, halo 5 will be comparable to halo 2 than halo 3.
