So, if you know anything about Nintendo nowdays it's that they NEED to get right their next Home console, the Nintendo NX, but you probably also know that Nintendo has also been thinking about combining their handhelds and home consoles. So now I ask you, is the NX the right time to do that ?
In my honest opinion it isn't, or at least not for a COMPLETE combination of the two: Nintendo still hasn't a cross buy sistem for most of the games that comes on both their devices, and I'm shure that the successor for Club Nintendo that'll come by the end of this year won't be perfect at it's launch and it'll take a lot until it's slightly similar to the one on PS4 and X1 . So the only way I could possibily see it happening whith NX is whith the POSSIBILITY to use a Handheld as a controller for all the NX games, but the handeld has to:
1-not be 3DS;
2-not be launched until NX is out for about 2 years so it can be well developed/built;
3-as a consequence of point 2 not sell ONLY whith NX (and after it's release they SHOULDN'T sell only NX+new handheld).
This would provide Nintendo time to optimize everithing for a first combination of the two and also help them in case the cross-platform isn't well accepted by fans. Obviously this are all opinions and Nintendo might not aim for the cross-platform with NX, but it certanly is a possibility, so what do you think ? Will NX introduce a first form of cross-platform ? How should they handle it ? let me know.
