crowdfunding for big companies is stupid as fuck and shame on you if you support that specific idea, there, I said it.

Lol, I agree. It's funny seeing people say this is a good idea "to test the waters". Sorry, big companies like Sony doesn't need their fans to fund shit for them. Feel sorry for the sheep who are going to pour countless dollars into the drain for a billion dollar company

You're right on that and they're not asking for people to fund a product. I wonder how much it actually costs to entirely fund that FES watch. It's not possible for crowdfunding to fund it completely. It is literally a way to "test the waters" in a meaningful way versus just doing polls which are not reliable. We're more likely to see more innovative and risky products come to light with this approach versus never seeing anything because it died on the drawing board.

"Oh, this idea for a product is risky."

"Maybe we shoudn't go with it then."

"Well, we could just see what happens with crowdfunding it and we'll know if it's worth the risk or not."

"That's a good idea. If they reach the goal we'll set for it, we'll take it to market."

I didn't know that sheep could spend money. I guess you learn something new everyday.
