Well, Yennefer is a bitch, but I wouldn't call her heartless. She has a small circle of people she cares about and would do anything for. Even if she feels guilty afterwards she won't let it show. She can be very vindinctive if you get on her bad side though.
Ciri on the other hand is actually quite young. She's been taught how to fight and kill, and also has some incredible power, but at the end of the day, she's still very young and see's Geralt and Yennefer as parents. That's probably why you get the split personality from her.
Triss on the other hand is just plain awesome!
