I think it's likely to be a temporary thing until the shit dies down. But I turned off Dukes back in the 80's when I realised what a lame arsed cheesey show it really is. So to me it's no loss for it to disappear off the screen forever, not that it will be.
I do hope the removal of confederate flags from state and local government properties is a permanent thing though. I can't understand why a symbol of secession, slavery and racism could ever be regarded as a legitimate thing for government institutions to display as a matter of pride. If private individuals or organisations want to wrap themselves in that odious symbology then that is fine, but government institutions should never be party to that sort of thing.
