I'd rather pay twice as much so the console won't limit Nintendo's ambitions, and see some actual evolving in their console. I would hate for their next console to be a console you'd see in 2012.

Yeah, having a slightly less powerful console than the XBox One would hardly be a good selling point. Hopefully when it is announced, it will be for a 2017 release, with the price tag reflecting the best parts the console can get, while maintaining a $300 price tag for the PREMIUM edition. Being on par or even slightly more powerful than the PS4 would be the least they should go for. It will have been 4 years +, so this should be completely doable.

If I were to dream, Nitnendo offering the first 4k console would be an amazing selling point I think. People in the next couple of years will be upgrading, and Visio and Samsung already have them at around $600 - $800. Give it two more years and it will be a viable resolution to support. Show that at some Gamestops (in 4K 60fps), that'll get people talking.

What you said sounds nice, but I can imagine Nintendo being in the middle of the PS4 and a 4K console. Perhaps, a system that can easily do 1080p 60fps with 8k textures etc, If they did that, with a solid lineup of launch games, I would be sold.
