This had better be fake. I don't want what seems to essentially be a Wii U without a gamepad. Third parties still will not go to it, this in no way would help with game droughts (bieng they would still have to develop for New 3DS and NX), it's not going to bring people in when used and refurbished XBone's are going for $300.... Yet again, who are they marketing this thing to? They need to wow people and get them to talk about the device, and can go about it two ways.
1: Power, which Nintendo typically doesn't go for. Even with the NX Miyamoto says they aren't going for a super powerful box, but I think it's all PR talk until we see something.
2: They come out with a new way to play games. Wii was a completely new way to experience games. Wii U, not so much. Not that the Wii U is a bad console, I personally feel the exact opposite way of that. I think the Wii U is one of the greatest Nintendo home consoles since the SNES. They showed with MANY of their first party games that the graphics could be great without impacting performance. They showed willingness to get M rated titles, ect. But I'm getting off point. They basically made it the same experience as the DS line of consoles, and people (especially in Japan) would rather take their games on the go if they are going to get the same basic experience.
And yet again this is the problem with a $149 Wii U, it would be impossible to wow players (in a good way) to give them the same basic experience of the Wii U, but take something away (gamepad). Here's hoping this is bullshit.
