1 TB ain't much improvement, instead of ~400 GB (~100 GB for the OS) you get ~900 GB available space... so only 125% more space.
I would go for a 1.5 TB (~1400 GB, 250% more space) to 2 TB (~1900 GB, 375% more space) HDD. The 2TB-Spinpoint M9T costs still around €/$ 100, but you get the 1.75TB-Spinpoint M9T (~1600 GB available, 300% more space) a lot cheaper.
