The average consumer is getting smarter that's why. GT5:P had little affect in NA.

Yup, the RROD has finally started to make an impact on buyers decisions.

Also when looking towards the future games, PS3 wins by a long shot.

 

 Given that the 360's sales have increased YOY that must mean people want the RRoD more than ever.  

 About the games, that's just your opinion.  The PS3 2008 lineup has no appeal for me since it's full of sequels to games I've never played.  The 360 on the other hand has its own sequels for people who want those, but new IP's like Alan Wake, Too Human, Lost Odyssey (already out) and others for people who want something fresh and original.
