Most big releases are £44.99 usually. Comparing the retail releases on amazon of $74.99 CAD (+13% tax = $84.75 CAD) and £44 (tax included) for Halo 5. $84.75 CAD = £43.68 on XE.com give or take a little there both basically the same price of $44.

Halo 5 is acutally one of the games that has a competative pricing on the Xbox store as its listed at £44.99 for the standard edition and I'm actually getting it digital for this reason and comparing this to Black Ops 3 been £44 on amazon and £54.99 on the Xbox store.

Interesting. So the UK and Canada's prices are quite similar when including tax. I guess us Canadians need to complain less

Our prices used to be $60 for new game last gen, but this gen they raised the price to $65. Also the tax rate isn't the same throughout the country. Most provinces have a tax rate between 12-15%, but in Alberta it's only 5%.

Well they're about to become $80 now o.O yea I kinda miss Alberta's low tax rate. Oh well I'll be back there soon.

OP: Yep. I move around a lot so I don't like lugging around huge physical collections anymore. The only reason that digital costs the same is probably to maintain parity with physical stores. However most retail stores have plans to go digital should the market shift that way, like ebgames, who plan to create a large online store to replace their retail outlets.
