Rework a AAA-game so it will sell 1-3 Millions would be worth the work in my opinion. The rework will be clearly alot easier then to make a complete new game from scratch (like Splatoon, and even that was very profitable i guess).

So instead Ubisoft doing a game like rayman legends completly from scratch and release it for 6 plattforms (doing 5 ports) which will sell 2m copies lifetime, it would be better and alot easier to reworking an assassins creed game to make it selling ~2mio copies on wii u to people that would never buy this game without the rework .

If that 1-3 million was guaranteed then it may be worth it yeah, especially for smaller games. Although it's far from guaranteed, just having cartoony graphics wouldn't help that much, the genre and gameplay are important too and obviously they wouldn't change.

Basically it's quite a risk to take. They could just make a DLC pack and sell that to the PS/Xbox/PC crowd instead and make a load of money that way. Smaller games would make less from DLC sales so might be better for them, but if they are smaller less popular games that would also mean less chance of selling 1-3 million on Wii U even with changes.

 

Sure its not guaranteed but if they dont try it they couldnt test it.

Like I already said i dont want this for all games. Games like Call of Duty, dark souls or Crysis wouldnt be liked by wii u owners jsut because of some cartoony graphics (and wouldnt fit these games anyway).

So its definitly not working for all genres. But action adventures should work pretty good.

I can see it happen for games like Assassins Creed (showed the picture).

Maybe even for a game like Evolve. Complelty change the dark setting into some colourfull and make it a fun 4vs1 shooter. Somethling like a mix between Evolve and splatoon. That would sell well in my opinion.
