Fro Nintendo to have been able to deliver a real Metroid game by this holiday they would have had to start on it close to launch of the Wii U- They obviously did not, nor did they start on it at any time since then- They did a 2d Donkey Kong instead- a good game but much less time and money to make-
Nintendo decided early on in the Wii U s life cycle to do the least they could and just get by until they were ready for their next console- 3rd parties realized this as well and that is a major reason why they did little to nothing on the Wii U= If Nintendo was not going to support it, that was a good indicator it was not worth their time and resources either-

Nintendo was not anywhere near ready for this generation- but they had to do something and they had to sell it to someone so they did their best used car salesman job and let it rip - They have a loyal following (although a shrinking loyal following) and they took advantage of it

When Nintenod releases a console they believe in, they will act much different toward it than they have the Wii U- Look at the effort they gave to turn around the 3DS- look at what Sony did to turn around the PS3 and MSFT has done to turn around the XB1 now compare those efforts to how Nintendo has responded to the Wii U - totally different-
