Maybe if they do have a classic Metroid game in development they should have shown some of it and THEN shown this FF one.
Fans would be like: "we have a new Metroid! There's that other Metroid game as well that doesn't interest me much but oh well, a new Metroid!"
Could have soften the blow perhaps. As I said before in this forum, given the fact that Nintendo fans miss on a lot of third party games it feels like Nintendo must deliver with their every release to try an compensate, so the outcry is a little understandable.
Maybe next Metroid is a NX release and that is why they won't show anything for now, who knows? Possibly Nintendo is already abandoning the WiiU ship for a shiny new NX one. But no way to know for sure until next e3/new WiiU games announcements in the coming months.
