Nobody can top Tobey as Peter Parker, so I already doubt that I'll like the movie.

Same here. They seem to be going with snarky cooly kid again. If thats the case they might've just stayed with Garfield or whatever he is called. I dont know whats so special with the ultimate like versions of spiderman. Ever since i remember spider-man he was a responsible young adult and even teen (he isnt the cool type, he is the nerdy type). I dont know why they insist on this terrible portrail of the character.

Spider-Man has been around for over 50 years now and has gone through many changes and characterizations.  I grew up with 80s-00s Spider-Man so I never viewed him as 60s version many older fans do.  To me, the Raimi Spider-Man films were equivalent to Burton/Schumacher Batman films.  People who viewed it as updating old characters rather than noting the changes they went through in modern times.  I never cared for any of those films personally.  I enjoyed Nolan's Batman update, but found ASM films to be a mixed bag of far superior casting (yes, I'll take Garfield/Stone over Maguire/Dunst any day), but some problems of poor writing persisting (the bridge scene SM1 / the crane scene ASM1 are both cringe worthy).

I am definitely minority who is happy to see my favorite Super hero get another shot, hopefully in Marvel's hands I'll finally get my Spider-Man film been waiting for decades to see.
