Early glances of benchmarks and results are not that promising for the Fury X. It appears to be limited in performance by its low amount of VRAM at higher resolutions and it has huge dips in performance above 1080p, it seems. It also appears to overclock really poorly, and even if drivers improve and voltage issues are fixed; OC possibilities will not go up the 100-200% required to keep up with a OC 980Ti, it even appears to fall behind the OC 980GTX in some cases when OC'd.
Considering that price will be roughly the same, the wattage is higher, drivers are famously worse, it overclocks worse and even gets beaten by a stock 980Ti at what appears to be most marks and I'll be gaming @ 1440p; it doesn't look like the Fury X is my card, especially for a rig that is to last several years, the 4GB of memory will be too limiting, regardless of how fast it is.

Gonna read some more reviews and benchmarks when I get home from work at eight tonight but it's not looking good for AMD; a super low temperature on its own is not a good enough reason to purchase a GPU and the performance is all over the place (and the OC benchmarks are barely any better than stock, while the 980Ti shows drastic improvements when OC'd).

Will keep my eyes and ears open but it does look to be settled for me.
