If Nintendo Japan had control over everything to the point where Reggie's duties are minor - let's say Nintendo japan made a bad decision that essentially broke Nintendo America, now Reggie is the president of NoA and therefore the wider apparent responsibility will fall on him. If you're the president of an organisation within a company but have little to no control, do you really want to be that president and ultimately get the blame for when something goes wrong? It doesn't matter what the business structure of Nintendo is, or how Nintendo operate, Reggie's signature is on everything that comes out of NoA, and he will therefore get the blame while he is still there. |
You - on your own accord - are blaming Reggie without a sound undestanding of how things work at Nintendo. Sure you can get angry about what he says in an interview and the poor marketing, that's on him.
But the other things you are pitting the blame on him is on the parent company and not reggie. It's not hard to understand
