Because Zelda isn't all there is to Nintendo..? Dude. Last year we got lots of Smash megatons, the mindblowing first trailer for Zelda Wii U, two huge surprise announcements (Splatoon and Star Fox), some more surprise announcements in Mario Party, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Captain Toad... and lots of stuff on Yoshi's Woolly World and Xenoblade Chronicles X. And even more stuff I'm forgetting about right now. Zelda showing up at next year's E3 will be awesome, but it won't be a surprise in any way. Not only do we all know the game will be there, but we have also already seen it 2 years earlier and have been waiting since like, forever, for something we already have a decent idea of what will be. If Nintendo's 2016 E3 is basically the "Zelda show", I will be disappointed. |
Yes, but they delayed it for a year to enhance it's gameplay. Which means what we ultimately see may be something entirely new than the reveal trailer. (which was awesome). Also, we didn't see any gameplay, dungeons, or bosses at that E3. If they show an exploration trailer of the many ways dungeons are accessible, the actual fighting in the game, the main villain, the story, or any boss it still offers a LOT that could surprise us. I know we seen a little of the gameplay in that second direct, but even in that, little to nothing was shown about the mechanics of the game.
Next while Splatoon was a HUGE announcement, saying that Star Fox was coming and not showing anything of it wasn't really all that exciting. Smash had already been announced and shown off prior to that E3 and I think you are overestimating the importance of the announcements of Mario Party, Kirby, and Captain Toad (sure they are fun titles, but nothing mind blowing). E3 2011 I would say blew E3 2014 out of the water. True half the games they showed for the Wii U were gimped (Assassin's Creed, Call Of Duty) or never game out (Ghost Recon Online and Aliens Colonial Marines), but it brought hype! Add in Skyward Sword trailer with full orchestra in the background, a Zelda U tech demo, it was GREAT!
