The 7th generation is not over. Wii, PS3, and 360 consoles are still being sold. I still game on PS3, and new games are still coming to PS3/360. Major 3rd party games, in fact.
Worldwide is what counts, not just America. The order of console sales are as follows: Wii, PS3, 360. 360 is the loser of the 7th generation at this point. I think it will stay that way.
Europe has a similar market for console sales. Asia makes up a sizable percentage as well. I'm an American myself, but the game business is made up of many countries. Europe and Asia outweigh America, I think. Then there is the Middle East, Africa, and Australia.
