What benefits does Nintendo gets releasing the NX a year and a half after announcement?

why wii u failed in so many ways is another topic.

And part of them still applies in this thread. There are not benefits on announcing next year and release until holiday 2017 outside of some fans dreams that won't provide the games they expect. All the big teams are now on NX and E3 showed that or make believe.

If Nintendo really wants to end all this speculation they should announce big hitter (to fans) as soon as possible, not until next E3.

 

BTW, can anyone tell me what new big games for Wii were announced at E3 2011?
