Sony will carry on producing the 500GB version until Christmas and then faze it out. The reason for this IMO will be create a sense of a 'fire sale' with the 500GB version or 'clearing old stock'. This allows them to sell a lot of console without announcing an official price drop. And then when the 500GB version is put to pasture, the price will still be $400 (1TB PS4), still a good deal because of the extra storage. To retail 'extra' value, I think they'll shift the TLOUR to the 1TB version.
